Tayeb Seddik Presents a Copy of His Credentials to the Ghanaian Foreign Minister as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sahrawi Republic to Ghana

Accra – Sahrawi Ambassador Mr. Tayeb Seddik El Bachir today, Monday, presented a copy of his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sahrawi Republic to the Republic of Ghana, during a reception held in his honour at the headquarters of the Ghanaian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital, Accra.

The Sahrawi Ambassador presented copies of his credentials to the Ghanaian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in the presence of a number of the Minister’s aides, as well as officials from the Africa Directorate and the Protocol Department of the Ghanaian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the Ghanaian Foreign Minister reaffirmed the steadfast position of the Government of the Republic of Ghana on the Sahrawi issue.

He expressed his country’s readiness to continue and strengthen coordination and joint action between the Republic of Ghana and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, in a manner that serves bilateral cooperation, while also pursuing consultations on various regional and international issues of common interest.

For his part, the Sahrawi Ambassador, on behalf of the Government and people of the Sahrawi Republic, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the principled and steadfast position of the Republic of Ghana towards the just Sahrawi cause and the legitimate struggle of the Sahrawi people to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination and independence.

Mr. Tayeb Seddik also noted that the relations between the Sahrawi Republic and the Republic of Ghana are rooted in a historic legacy of African solidarity and shared principled positions. He expressed his aspiration to continue working to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and peoples across various fields.

He conveyed his best wishes, on behalf of the Government and people of the Sahrawi Republic, to the Republic of Ghana and its people for further progress, advancement and prosperity.

Meanwhile, the discussions between the two sides concluded with an affirmation of the strength and depth of Sahrawi-Ghanaian bilateral relations and the shared will to advance them towards broader horizons, thereby strengthening solidarity and cooperation between the two peoples and contributing to the goals of peace, stability and continental integration.
